Small Black

Small Black are pretty big. They're kind of like a step down from Washed Out and Toro y Moi in terms of band popularity. So anyways, they're from Brooklyn and they're certainly one of the bands that we will remember from the chill wave era.

They have an album coming out on October 26th. It's called New Chain. Looks like this:

Games

Hey y'all, sorry about not posting that much recently. Real world calls and all.

Anyways, heres a band called Games. Don't know much about them but they're from Brooklyn and they make music that would have been the ultimate soundtrack to an 80's/90's childhood.

David E. Sugar-Party Killer

David E. Sugar is old. In blog years, he would be like 1000. Anyways, he's from the UK. He was a pioneer of chip-tune. He's been featured on a few Kitsune compilations and he has an album coming out next month entitled Memory Store.

Party Killer is the first single off the album:

Police Academy 6+ Unouomedude

So Unouomedude has done a song with a Police Academy 6. Check it out:

PASSION PIT X GRUM

There's not all that much that I need to say about this. Passion Pit remixed by Grum. Awesome

Crystal Fighters

So Crystal Fighters have come up with this crazy shit stop motion video for their new single Follow. Kinda freaked out by the that woman, that old man and that weirdo wizzard dude. Anyways Crystal Fighters are from Spain and they make a sick mix of traditional spanish music, pop and electro.

AZARI & III

Azari & III are from Toronto. Azari & III are Dinamo Azari and Alixander III.(That spelling is correct so don't be starting). Azari & III make classic house like they used to in Chicago and Detroit in the 70s/80s. They also make some pretty killah remixes

Wise Blood.

So Wise blood is the bedroom project of a guy called Christopher Laufmann. He's from somewhere in The States. His music is a sick ass blend of hip-hop, lo-fi, tropical RnB and Christmas. He also a free EP out called "+".

Miami Horror-Echoplex

Echoplex from Miami Horror on Vimeo.

So Miami Horror have made a video for their new single Echoplex. Nothing better than seeing sexay Australian girls being sexay to a disco pop soundtrack. So anyways the single is off the album Illumination which was released on August 20th.

Anoraak.

So Anoraak's new album Wherever The Sun Sets is being released digitally tomorrow. Gave it a listen. Seems to be a 40 minute dream/disco/tropical holiday without the poverty and the snakes.

He released a single off the album a while back. If you haven't heard it, here it is:

Phantogram

So Phantogram are from Saratoga Springs, NY. The band consists of Josh Carter and Sarah Barthel. They've been around for quite a while now and have an album that was released in February of this year. Mixing hip hop beats, electronic loops, a bit of pop and soul and a decent amount of shoe gaze, they describe their music as street beat/ psych pop. Whatevs

Summer Camp- Round The Moon

Caught wind of this band a few months back. Didn't think too much of them until I heard Round The Moon. Its Saturday evening. I'm pretty excited to go and get crazy shit at some party. This song will be playing in the car fo sho.

Give it a listen:

Round The Moon is off the band's EP, Young which was released September 6th.

Maximum Balloon

So there's been a huge amount of buzz surrounding Maximum Balloon recently. Its the Side project David Sitek aka that guy from TV on The Radio. They're from LA or something. Anyways, heres a kief remix of Groove Me:

Kordan

Pretty hungover today. Everything is so damn loud and bright. In need of something quiet and gentle for my aching brain. Found this band whilst doing the daily blog browse. They're from Brooklyn, NY. They've got an album entitled The Longing coming out on the 12th of October. Sombre, atmospheric sound. Pretty much it.

Delorean- Real Love video

Been wanting to do a post about Delorean for a short while now. The barcelona based fourpiece have been around for a bloody long time(try ten years which in buzzband years is like a thousand.). Anyways, they released a new album earlier this year entitled Subiza and its pretty fantastic.

Warpaint.

Thought I would do a post on this band considering that they are all over the net and that they are mad delish. So they're from LA, they make chilled, slightly psychedelic, experimental art rock and they're all girls( hott girls, too.). They've got an EP out already(which was mixed by that guy that plays guitar in Red Hot Chili Peppers) and will be releasing their debut album entitled The Fool next month.

LES SINS

OMFG. So Chaz Bundick aka Toro y Moi has recently decided to temporarily ditch the chill for the disco. This new side project of his goes by the name of Les Sins and woah, is it mad incredible. Pretty sure disco house is now the new electro.

There's also an EP coming out in November

Pictureplane

So, Pictureplane. Well, it's the solo work of an ou name Travis Egedy. He's from Denver, Colorado and he's pretty good at making wierdo brilliant darkwave. Apparently he lives in some sort of party commune called Rhinoceropolis. Ok.

So anyways, he has this album out called Dark Rift, right, and its pretty fucking awesome.

Check this song out:

Beach Fossils

So this has definitely been been one of my favourite bands of this year. They're from brooklyn, NY and they make some pretty infectious, "make-you-wanna-do-nothing-but-sit-around-and-be-nostalgic-and-dreamy" indie rock.

Their self titled album was released on May 25th. Get it. It's awesome.

KISSES

So this is Kisses. They're from Los Angeles. They're comprised of bf/gf Jesse Kivel(also of Princeton) and Zinzi something. They pretty much started out this year releasing their first single "Bermuda" earlier this year. So anyway they make some seriously naais dream/synth pop which is like mad perfect for the coming summer.

Kisses-People Can Do The Most Amazing Things.mp3

Kisses-Bermuda.mp3

Pretty chill, right?

They've got an album coming out in October. Looks like this:

Wanna be there.

DOM DOM DOM DOM DOM

I'll start this off by saying: "FUCK I LOVE THIS BAND.". They're just bloody excellent.
Love the lo-fi sound. Love the kick-you-inna-face riffs. Love the 90s grunge tinge. Love that the singer sounds a bit like a girl. LOVE LOVE LOVE.
So anyways, they're from Massachusettes as one would expect(The US is the new UK when it comes to music these days). They've been together since January and thats pretty much all I can tell you(Im pretty sucky at the whole "researching the band" thing.)
Whatevs. Here's their first single entitled "Living in America.":

Btw this is off their EP entitled "Sun Bronzed Greek Gods."
Its a rad EP. Get your hands on it if you can.

The Drums- When I Come Home

Rumours abound! The Drums aka. the biggest band of this year is one member down, apparently. Was reading some blog that said so, ok. Adam Kessler left the band a few days ago for unknown reasons. Not too sure which one Adam Kessler is but I'm hoping it's the monkey looking one on the right. Kinda ruins the stylish, good looking and talented vibes of the band, right?

So anyways RCRD LBL posted "When I Come Home" today. Apparently it's a bonus track or something. What ever the case may be, it's a pretty sick song. Rumour has it that this may be the next single. Perhaps it actually is the next single. Whatevs. Blogs are written like tabloids.

Anyways, here it is:

They also recently did a really great cover of The Arcade Fire's "We Used to Wait.":

If for some reason this is the first time you've heard of this band, hit em up on Facebook and Myspace:

LUXURY LIVING

They're from London. They make mad awesome disco. That's pretty much it:

Christoph Andersson

So in keeping with some sort of non existent dirrrrty south theme, here's a guy from New Orleans. His name is Christoph Andersson and he makes some pretty killah disco house.

He's only got like three songs and one mix on the net but whatevs. Think this kid is some sort of music machine who will soon be pushing out like 30 mp3s a minute or something.

Christoph Andersson-Tuxedo.mp3

He also did a pretty bitchin' remix of Yeasayer's O.N.E:

Unouomedude

So first off is this guy who goes by the name of unouomedude ( pronounced "You know you owe me dude". Clever, right?). Anyways he's from Jacksonville, Florida, he's young and he makes some sic-as-shit dream pop. Here's an mp3 off his Ep entitled Marsh:

Hit him up on Facebook or Myspace:

And....we're off!

Hey y'all. So I decided to make a music blog. The idea is to post sick mp3s by sick artists so people have sick music to play whilst they do sick shit. Pretty simple. I will try to upload stuff as often as possible(ie. like, at least once a week).

Cheers.
